1980s Soviet metal pin of Buratino (Буратино) - the hero of the children's book by Alexei Tolstoy "The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Buratino" (1936). The prototype of Buratino is Pinocchino (Пиноккио). Buratino quickly became hugely popular among children in the Soviet Union, and remains so to this day as one of the most popular characters of Russian children's literature.
