1970s commemorative Soviet metal pin of Voskhod (Восход), meaning 'Sunrise' in Russian. As the country's 1st crewed space programme, it was a widely considered rushed and potentially dangerous race into space. As a development of and a follow-on to the Vostok spacecraft, Voskhod 1 was used for a three-man flight whereas Voskhod 2 had a crew of two.
